Stomping Ground: Winter 2019
Stephen, Jesse, Jack, Laura and the Kriegels joined us for some of our winter month at camp.

Satellite image with GPS points plotted from building survey and rough boundaries. You can see that the camp while already large will be surrounded by accessible State Forest lands. The west lake is full in this image while the East lake has been drained, The camp property includes both lakes

Pam cleaning shop

Getting the shop functioning was a first priority including rehanging the barn doors to separate the heated shop from the unheated storage/garage area (note the pinky finger action)

We finally got heat into shop

Kriegels setting up jig to cut parts for 20 picnic tables
Pam dragging cleaning supplies to start on the infirmary (water was a precious commodity on this trip)

A huge wind storm took down many trees including several large ash across the main entrance

Clearing the main entrance

The crew finishing getting entrance road open

Supplies arrive for framing and enclosing doors for lean-tos and building picnic tables for dining hall
Doors and windows framed, note the battery operated saw on the sled that let us work all day far from power
Jon K. on chilly lean-to duty

Cutting T 1-11 in shop to be carried through woods and installed on lean-tos, The trails hadn't been repaired yet and no off-road vehicles purchased at this point
Ready for doors and screens

John removing a fallen limb that at some point had pierced a lean-to roof. Jack has found a great tree guy to clear the many standing dead trees that resulted from years of neglect

Jesse frepairing the infirmary door

Stephen and Jesse taking tens of bunks out of the barracks to start the transformation into the lodge

Dock hung-up on spillway

One of the docks got driven over the spillway in a massive fall storm that also brought down many trees

The crew rescuing the dock

This story is about the work at camp but once in a while we stopped to notice the beauty that surrounded us

The west or upper lake

Jack and John planning next days work

Hoist in shop controlled by line to car outside

It is a big camp especially when hauling everything through snow
