Beach: Decks (1998…)
It seems hard to believe today but the first deck went in in 1998 with many changes and expansions to follow. With seating at the top and mid level of the stairs, a shaded lawn above, and a long beautiful sand beach, having a deck never seemed that important. But as soon as it went in it became the social center of beach life.

After the first 6 by 8 foot deck a 6 by 12 foot addition was added to the west in the early 2000s (no pics) and then in 2016 a 3.5 by 20 foot addition with railings extended the deck out over the boulders to the south.
The two steps that had formed the bleachers to watch volleyball were replaced with an extension over the boulders.
With the edge of the deck so close to the drop off to the beach we decided it was time for railings.
The John and Linda W. came to help install the glass panels.
The results were with great views and a little protection from the wind in the spring and fall.
With so much exposed deck we decided to add sunshades which could quickly go up or down.
