Stomping Ground: September 2022
At the end of September 2022 Pam and I went back to camp to do a little work but mostly to celebrate Justin Schott and the dedication of a cabin in his honor. About 10 Schotts came together with about 10 camp staff to dedicate Justin’s cabin, chat at a wine and cheese reception, tour camp sharing Justin stories and finish with a very nice dinner.
Our visit started with John in the shop and Pam shopping for the dedication and parts for the project.
Before we left we had new cabinets and counter top installed in the Getaway for the nurses.
On Friday afternoon we gathered at Justin's cabin for the dedication. Linda and David and Jack introduced Justin to the camp family and Jack and Laura spoke about how well Justin's story fits camp's aspirations.

After the dedication there was a wine and cheese reception at the dining hall prepared by Jordan who had helped with the reunion a year earlier.
Justin will welcome countless campers to his cabin.

One stop was at the 1800s farm house which is being restored to provide year round space for staff housing and winter activities. Yes those are two fireplaces in the front parlor.
After the reception we toured camp and at each stop Linda told us great stories celebrating Justin. This is the "Launch Pad" made up of bricks which donors use to concretize a memory.
The beautiful main staircase just after drywall work was completed. The goal is to have the farm house ready for staff to have a year round home by winter.

After the tour the family and camp staff enjoyed a great dinner in the dinning hall that Jordan had waiting for us and we all got to know each other.
It seemed appropriate that the evening ended with a spectacular sunset over the lake.
